The New Mystical Themed Mode
The most exciting update in Beta 1 of PUBG Mobile is the new themed mode that’ll feature a new map, mechanics, items, and vehicles.
Nimbus Island
The new map in the latest PUBG Mobile beta is called Nimbus Island, and it features two islands called “Day Island” and “Night Island”. Players can select which of the two maps they want to enter, with Day Island being bright and suited for direct encounters and firefights, whereas Night Island is for stealthy combat under a dark, night sky.
However, there is a countdown for the islands after which, players will be transported high up into the Playzone and the Nimbus Islands will not be accessible for the rest of the match.
There are three main areas on Nimbus Island and you can leave by using a portal. The area called the ‘Palace’ is where you’ll find the best loot, so you should check out this area first.
Additionally, players also receive a Respawn Card when entering Nimbus Island. Once eliminated, the Respawn Card will be used to respawn the player immediately. There’s also a genie on Nimbus Island who will grant another Respawn Card if you can find him.
A Flying Treasure Ship
Roaming the free skies of Nimbus Island is a flying Treasure Ship filled with supplies and loot in PUBG Mobile. The Treasure Ship randomly drops air drops at indicated boarding points and follows a fixed route. At the end of the Treasure Ship’s journey, there’ll be an ultimate crate containing rare rewards.
New Items
On Nimbus Island, players will have access to two new items. The Grooving Grenade throwable and the Portal Staff. The Portal Staff can create two portals on the map and the Grooving Grenade summons a genie that creates a ‘dancing zone’.
Players within the dancing zone are temporarily forced to dance with the genie so it’s a great way to distract and immobilize enemies to pick them off one by one.
A Flying Carpet Vehicle
The Flying Carpet is an exclusive vehicle in PUBG Mobile to the Nimbus Island map and can glide across the ground or shoot up into the air for some mesmerizing acrobatics as you soar through the skies.
When on the ground, teammates on the Flying Carpet can shoot but once you’re in the air you get a burst of speed but can’t shoot.
Treasure Map & Vaults
When players load into a match, they’ll receive a Treasure Map which you can follow to find common and rare crates. Inside these crates, you might find the ‘Treasure Vault Key’ which will open the Treasure Vault that stashes away rare loot.
New ‘Home’ Feature
In addition to the Nimbus Island map, there’s also a new Home feature in the WOW tab and Social Lobby. Here, players can freely build and design a home for other players to visit and lounge in.
You can also earn rewards for completing ‘Home missions’ so give it a try to build your very own dream home in PUBG Mobile.
Additional Improvements
There are also a few more improvements within Beta 1 –
- Improved handling and spawn rates for Motor Gliders.
- P90 added to airdrops and adjustments to ACE32, M762 7.62mm rifles, and DBS shotguns.
- Improved movement when characters & firearms are against a wall.
- Improved animation for climbing up from the water.
