Ancient
Both teams, Radiant and Dire, have their own ancient at the center of their base. Destroying the Ancient of the enemy team is the main goal of each team in order to win.
Creeps
All the units that you can see inside the map that are not heroes are called creeps. You can see creeps both on the lanes and in the jungle. Lane creeps are either owned by your team or the enemy team. You can use them to help you destroy towers. Jungle creeps, on the other hand, are the units that can be farmed by both teams to help them increase their level.
Creep Score
Creep score is the overall stats of both your last hits and denies of lane creeps. You can see your creep score at the upper left side of your screen, just below your KD score.
Last Hit (LH)
The last hit score is one of the components of your creep score. This pertains to the number of creeps you killed as the last hitter. Landing the last hit grants you the gold.
Deny (DN)
Denying is the act of killing your own lane creeps in order to prevent the enemy team hero from getting the last hit from your creeps and getting the gold.
Gank
Ganking is a technique that can be perfectly executed with proper comms with teammates. This is where the whole team gathers in one spot discreetly and attacks an enemy altogether to deal with an easy kill.
OOM
You already know that mana is used by heroes in order to use their skills and land combos on the enemies. Strategies are best executed if the whole team has enough mana. If your team is about to do a combo but does not have enough mana to perform, simply chat OOM which means out of mana.
Ward
Wards are items used by each team in order to gain a vision of particular map areas that have high tendencies of enemy units invading the area. There are two types of wards: sentry and observer wards. These two can be purchased from the shop.
